Hey everyone!

My first night in Toronto at the Miss World Canada pageant was a night to remember and I am so excited to share the experience and all the incredible sponsors with all of you! The night started off with a cocktail dress and a crown.

I went downstairs excited to meet my new pageant sisters and our generous sponsors! I was greeted with a new sash and 56 smiling and welcoming sisters. I was ecstatic to say the least.  Here is me and my new Alberta sash!!

Next I was on my way to our sponsor tables! My first stop was our footwear sponsor. Nine West has an incredible shoe collection and has sponsored us with pageant perfect nude heels. I am so looking forward to rocking these on stage! Check out their website below!

Nine West

“Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she’ll conquer the world .”

Staying with our shoe sponsors I got to model a pair of starry Skechers thanks to Skechers Canada! They have memory foam shoes for ultimate comfort and style! I fell in love with these white sparkly sneakers.

Here’s the link to see more of their kicks! Skechers

Next I got to meet the beautiful ladies of the Kra Co. Using 100% natural shea butter for their products my lips have never felt more smooth! I was given a lip balm and tint and immediately fell in love.  Seriously check out their stuff it’s worth it

The Kra Co

Luckily my next stop was Maxine Warch facial rejuvenation, she has these amazing clothes called the warsh cloth. These cloths are miraculous just add water and all your make up wipes away. No chemicals no anything!!! Just water. This is an essential for every girl.

Warsh Cloth

Speaking of essentials here’s a travel tip: always pack  essentials in your carry on, if your suitcase is ever lost you won’t be. I’d make sure to include some Nine West heels to be ready for anything, some Skechers for comfort, The Kra Co lip tints (serious must haves), a warsh cloth to keep your face fresh and last but definitely not least anything from Helene Clarkson designer. Her clothes are so soft, comfy and fashionable you’ll be ready to take on anything!

The rest of the night was filled fun and laughter as I chatted with the sponsors and other delegates! Thank you to all of our sponsors I am so grateful to you all and lucky to be apart of this and have you on my journey!!

Wow!!  I was given the opportunity to write a piece of fashion for Street Chic and am so excited about it! Small towns aren’t usually known for fashion, it tends to be linked to the bright lights of the cities. If your lucky enough to visit or live in a small town you’ll see that fashion thrives here. When I learned about this opportunity I knew who I wanted to help showcase.
Someone who can own their own style and help inspire others to do the same. Meet Shanelle, a beauty aesthetician who has always been inspired by the fashion industry. She takes great pride in letting her individuality shine through her fashion choices. Whether she’s working her magic on clients or strolling through our small town streets Shanelle always likes to look her best and showcase her unique fashion. Being in the beauty industry she likes to change up her fashion choices consistently.

Fashion is everywhere you look as well as inspiration, and while big cities hold the claim to fame for fashion it really is inside each individual. Rocking your own unique style will always be in so don’t be afraid to be yourself. Shanelle showcased a spectrum of fashion and shined in every piece she wore from head to toe. This is a girl who knows how to shop on a budget and still look great.

I am so excited for you all to read my article! What a great way to showcase Canadian fashion. Thank you Street Chic for this incredible opportunity.

I was asked to write about a location, small business or landmark within my titles region; I immediately knew what spot I needed to share with all of you! Tucked away down whitecourts west mountain road is a beautiful canyon you can discover, hard luck canyon. Just take a short walk down a path where you will be enveloped into a thick forest often filled with a variety of wildlife from deer to friendly gardner snakes. At the end of the path you’ll descend on a picturesque canyon or if you’re lucky a spectacular waterfall depending on rainfall and time of year giving it its name “hard luck” canyon.
Since I was young hard luck canyon has always been Woodlands County best kept secret. In more recent years the county has helped it become a tourist attraction adding picnic tables and family friendly stairs for easier access down into the beautiful canyon! It is truly a place of peace and tranquility! Once in awhile you can even attend yoga in the canyon to let you absorb all the calmness and grounding it has to offer.
I have been lucky enough to grow up with such a gorgeous display of nature. I would be more than thrilled to share it with all of you! Whether it be for a short hike or afternoon picnic. Hard luck canyon is an incredible part of Woodlands County that should be shared and I am proud to be able to tell you all about it.

Hey everyone!!

I want to talk about beauty. The kind of beauty you can only find within yourself. My mom always asks me to name five things I don’t like about myself, and I can quickly rattle five things off to her, then she asks me to name five things I like about myself and I would always get stuck. So this has really brought to my attention that while others kind words or compliments are amazing to hear and give you that happy feeling inside that feeling doesn’t last.

I’ve been making an effort every week to find at least five things I love about myself, whether it be something about my appearance or something inside me. Anything to help the beauty inside you to radiate outwards. I want to challenge you to all do the same. It can be as simple as smiling throughout a rainy day, or at the stranger who held the door for you at the store, or even just looking in the mirror and picking out something about yourself that you love. So I challenge you to find the beauty within yourselves and see what kind of impact it can have on your life.

Thanks for reading!!!

Hey everyone!

I am fundraising to send one of my local firefighters to the Jasper Mental Health Summit which will be taking place May 12-14. This is a great workshop aimed at mental health education, awarness and wellness. It will help provide our First Responders with up to date information and education. P.T.S.D and mental health are very serious and real issues in the everyday lives of our First Responders and how amazing would it be to give back a little to everyday to these everyday heroes. If we can help get them these tools to fight back maybe we can help save some of their lives like they have saved so many of ours. In January and February of 2016 alone eight First Responders tool their own lives, lets help to prevent anymore being lost. Please donate click the link below!!

Hey everyone!!

Yesterday I had the privilege of getting a meet and greet with my local firefighters, this included an incredible tour of our firehall, equipment and an intensely educational one on one with its members most who are volunteer. Our firefighters are so much more then the name entails not only do they battle house and wild fires, but also do water rescue, respond to motor vehicle collisions, clean up chemical hazmat spills, and are trained in terrorism! Our county department consists of 43 member broken down into 4 crews which on top of their general training each crew is trained in specialized training as well. Last year these members had 346 calls, thats 3746 hours of incidents including fires, hazmat spills, motor vehicle collisions and rescues. On top of that they went through 7256 hours of  in house training to constantly stay ahead of the curve both mentally and physically, and they put in 835 hours of public education going to places like schools to educate children and families on fire safety.

I got to talk to them about my Beauty with a Purpose project which is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in first responders, and asked where they would like to see my efforts directed and their response was “We would like to be able to sponsor one or two of our members for training in peer support counselling”. This is an amazing idea and exactly what I want to help with. It can be a huge help first responders suffering from P.T.S.D by having someone available and trained in house for them. Our firefighters already also do some of their own in house programs such as “Evenings with Spouses” which teaches families of first responders what to look for in P.T.S.D and how to help. I had such an amazing time and learning experience and cannot wait to continue working along side these every day heroes to give a little something back for all they do.

Thanks so much for reading!!

So this will be my first ever blog post which is really exciting for me. I’m so excited to be on this journey, and to be able to share it with all of you. A little bit about me… I was born and raised in Alberta, I love playing slo-pitch in the summer, am an anti-bullying advocate, and have huge place in my heart for animals. Especially my cocker spaniel, she’s my world.

I’m so grateful to be representing Woodlands County, growing up here I’m lucky enough to know how beautiful it is and how much it has to offer! The amount of support I have received has been incredible and at time overwhelming in the best way. I would like to invite you all to tune in at 7pm to my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MissWoodlandsCountyWorld2017 to watch my live video!!

Thanks so much!!
